Dividing Spirit from Soul

I want to talk to you more in depth about the soul, and it’s function in comparison to the spirit and body because there are issues that can lodge themselves in the soul of a person that can go very deep.

The soul of man is that part which is uniquely him. It is what we think of as the personality of man. The soul is the choices we make when we exercise our will. We learn the nature and character of a person by observing the expression of their soul through both their words and actions. These originate in a person’s soul.

When you accepted Christ’s sacrifice for your sins and became a believer, only your spirit became perfectly aligned to the Spirit of God. The human soul is not renewed, saved or set free of it’s wrong patterns of thinking, it’s deception and denial, and it’s agendas simply because of a spiritual salvation experience. The mind, will and emotions must be continually renewed by the washing of the Word of God, by immersing itself in God’s Word and time in His presence with His Spirit. The soul must continually choose to surrender itself to the will of God. You can cause your soul to do this.
Soul-ties exist because God wanted close godly bonds between His people. They were intended for man’s best interest as part of the design of God to provide a healthy, nurturing two-way flow of love.
A “soul-tie” is a cleaving together, a relationship whereby two souls are “joined” or “knitted together” and in a sense become as one. All human soul-ties must be counterbalanced by a love for Jesus.

“He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:37 KJV

The enemy comes to corrupt and pervert that which God designed as pure in order to steer those bound together by “his yoke” into greater darkness and disorder. When soul ties are ungodly, they restrain from independence or freedom of action or choice.

Ungodly soul ties constrain as if by authority, influence, agreement or obligation.

“Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him! And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.” John 11:34-44

It is my intent by His will to bring forth the practicalities of personal reformation to free you from what has bound you – what you “ALL TIED UP.” Like Lazarus, you can come forth… but still be bound!

The continual work of the Holy Spirit in your soul is going to be YOUR life long work with the Holy Spirit while you are here on this earth as a believer. I will, by the grace of God, equip you with the tools to be free and succeed in all that you reach for!
It is crucial to understand the distinction between body, soul, and spirit. God is a trinity, and man is made in God’s image, we are triune beings also.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 says, “Sanctify you wholly, and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete.” This verse clearly shows a distinction between the spirit and the soul. Since God has said this in His Word, we can see that there is a distinction between man’s spirit and his soul. From this and other similar scriptures, we can safely conclude that man is divided into three parts—the spirit, the soul, and the body.

Hebrews 4:12 states further:
“For the word of God is living and operative and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow, and able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

There is a great significance of distinguishing the spirit from the soul. It has much to do with the spiritual life of the believers. If believers do not know the boundary of their spirit, how can they understand the spiritual life? If they do not understand the spiritual life, how can they have a spiritual living? When believers are negligent or ignorant of the distinction between the spirit and the soul, they never grow in their spiritual life and live “bound”.

Every believer should be able to flesh out what is “God” speaking to them and what is “their own desires shouting loudly.” When we believers participate in the resurrection life of the Lord, the spirit begins to rule over our whole being. This is because those who have believed in the Lord are joined to Jesus Christ, the last Adam, who is the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45) and also because of the regeneration of the soul by reading the Word of God and keeping it in your heart and mind always.

If you know that you have ungodly soul ties and truly desire to be free, surrender to God in this prayer with me right now:

“Father God, I come to you now with repentance on my lips and in my heart. Please turn my heart away from any idols in my life and turn it towards you. You are the fountain from which all blessings flow and I will praise you, Elohim, as long as I shall live. You are the one true God. You are my deliverer and the opener of my womb. You have healed my barrenness by revealing your Son and your Spirit without which I would be lost in darkness. I pray against any attack of the enemy on my mind. May the works of satan in my life be destroyed by fire. Seal any crack or crevice that gives the enemy entrance to my mind, will or emotions. Use my hands to glorify you and destroy the works of the enemy through your Son, Jesus Christ. Remove anything and anyone from my life that does not align with your divine will for my life and my destiny in you. Grant me the discernment to identify and remove idols from my life. I praise you and thank you for my deliverance. I will glorify you all the days of my life. In the name of Yeshua. Amen.”

God's Treasures

"but we have this treasure in earthen vessels," 2 Corinthians 4:7

Have you ever felt worthless, or did not perceive the value you have? Have people ever tried to make you feel less than you should about yourself? But who determines your value? Who decides what your appraisal should be? The answer is God.

God has made you, and you are a rare vessel. You are a treasure in an earthen vessel. You are a vessel of honor. Did you know that God does not have a junkyard? The devil tries to convince us that we are useless and obtain no value. But the devil is a liar. God made you and loves you the way you are.

If God be for us, who can be against us? Believe today that God will show Himself to you and allow you to see yourself from His view. Pray this prayer: "Father, I am Your gift, and I will declare Your glory. I worship you this day in the beauty of your holiness. I accept myself for who I am because I am wonderfully and fearfully made. I am made in your image to reflect you…

Failproof Faith

"For if ye do these things, ye shall never fall." 2 Peter 1:10b The author of this book is the apostle Peter. It strikes me funny that he is the one who writes this. It is obvious that he learned through experiences, for he was the one who (in my opinion) struggled the most to stand. He loved God, he followed God, he gave to God, he forsook all, but he struggled in the end to stand. Is this not the real issue in your life, as well?  I am not talking about your love for God or your obedience to God; I am talking about your ability to stand. When Jesus warned Peter about his denial, Peter guaranteed Jesus that he would have his back. When we are faced with real pressure from our peers and the world, we struggle to stand. But how can you go through and not fall? Peter was the perfect portrait for most people.
His name was Simon, which means, "water." Water is unstable (taking on the shape according to its environment) in terms of an element. But Jesus renamed him, Pet…

What Is On Your Mind?

“Think on these things.” Philippians 4:8 The level of our potential depends upon the level of our thinking. If we let our minds wander into doubt and unbelief, we will drown in fear. Fear is false evidence appearing real. We cannot allow ourselves to daydream and let the devil take control of our thinking. Some Christians need to get rid of stinking thinking and get a checkup from the neck up.
Paul compelled the Philippians to think thoughts that are true, just, pure, lovely, of good report, of virtue, and of praise. Negative thinking will not only prevent you from reaching your potential, it will kill your dreams. A person who cannot dream will eventually start having nightmares.
All this week we have been focusing on our thoughts and on meditation. The Hebrew word we have focused on is, “Hagah.” The same word can be translated differently and according to the mental images of the individual. “Hagah” also means to murmur, mutter or mourn. Isaiah declared, “Your tongue hath muttered…
