Black History Month Celebration

“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:26-29
February is Black History Month!  History records that Carter G. Woodson, a respected historian, started “Negro History Week” for one week in February, because it was the week that included both Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass’ birthdays.   That was in 1926 – now in present-day 2018, we celebrate Black History for the entire month of February.  For the entire month, we reflect on the amazing contributions that African-American people have had on our society.
We at New Destiny Christian Center are honored to have received the Rosa Parks Community Service Award on February 18, 2018 for our work in…

Gratitude: What You Appreciate, Appreciates

What you appreciate, appreciates… When you learn to appreciate more of what you already have, you will find yourself having more to appreciate.

Matthew 25:23, “His lord said unto him, well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” The word “Faithful” Greek here means: trustworthy, trustful. Matthew 25:28-29, “Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.”

So as written above: What You Appreciate, Appreciates… According to the WORD the determining factor to having “abundance” (living a quality life) is being trustful or trustworthy. You CAN be trusted! So as abundance is given to a vessel of “trust”, the implication is “I am responsible for, and care for what I carry, possess or contain, based on…

Recognizing the Depths of Satan

Every season in your life has certain events predestined and appointed to happen by God’s hand. Understanding the times and seasons of God is important for perceiving your destiny because your individual mandate falls within the bigger scheme of God’s timing. Your individual mandate will have attacks launched upon it by Satan, and we must get an understanding so that we can overthrow the plan of the enemy.

Satan has organized ways that he attacks believers and we must be aware of this. As a believer, you belong to the winning side, and you must know how to legally engage in combat. I’m going to talk more about the strategies of spiritual warfare. You’ll recognize the depths of Satan while wearing the mighty armor of God!

The Bible makes it clear that a battle line has been drawn between two kingdoms. One is the kingdom of God: the kingdom of light and righteousness. The other is the kingdom of the devil: the kingdom of darkness, evil, and all lies. The kingdom of God and the kingdom …

Strategies in Spiritual Warfare

“When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, e takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder. 23 “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
Luke 11:21-23 [NIV]

The Bible makes it clear that a battle line has been drawn between two kingdoms. Satan has tried since the beginning of time to copy God’s hierarchical organization and fill it with perversion. God has always preserved a remnant of true followers who will not be turned away from Him. These followers – you and me – have been the subject of Satan’s jealousy and anger since the serpent set out to deceive Adam and Eve.

The enemy has a limited arsenal that he uses to attack God’s people. This month, we have been examining these inferior methods of attack and discussing effective defenses to them. God has harvest for His people! In this season, God desires that you should brea…
